Employsure

Development Lead

Employsure is a HR sales enterprise company falling under the Peninsula Group that uses software engineering primarily for internal use cases.

I joined Employsure in 2022 and at the end of 2022 was offered the role of Development Lead. The team was small but we managed a large scope of software and integrations ranging from data pipelines to bigquery, our salesforce instance, custom software and a large number of windows scripts. Under my leadership the team grew from 3 members to 6 members including 2 saleforce developers, a web developer and 2 software engineers. We also oversaw upgrades to our Dimensions instance which involved a large amount of work on sql stored procedures for our invoicing system. Other projects include:

• A full software project to generate documents from the MAPD for client facing information as well as a frontend for our service team.
• A full scale website migration from externally hosted on Wordpress ot a custom stack built on NextJS, Cloudflare/Vercel, React, Storybook and Github Actions. Using Playwright and Jest to test components and maintain health checks. This involved moving across 13~ sites for Australia and New Zealand
• Working with UK counterparts to build and implement a document generation system for confidential documents for an Ipad app as well as a Sharepoint environment for use by non-technical users.
